Let's Build The Perfect Productivity System for Students
The trifecta you didn’t know you needed.
Hey friends,
Adam here.
With exams approaching and life pulling us in every direction, I’ve been reflecting on the system that’s kept me both sane and successful.
It’s not just about crushing your to-do list - it’s about weaving together tasks, learning, and life into a seamless flow.
This trifecta helped me:
Rank top 1% at UCL Medical School.
Launch MediZen in 35 days (website, product, and all).
Maintain a 452% LinkedIn growth streak (without burnout).
Let’s break it down in 3 steps.
1. Task Management: Do the Right Things, Faster
Let’s be honest: a to-do list is useless if nothing gets done.
I’m not talking about scribbling notes on sticky pads or tossing them into random apps like Apple Notes.
I’m talking about a Task Execution Engine—a system that forces you to:
Prioritise ruthlessly
Stay ahead of deadlines
Link tasks to your bigger vision
Here’s what that looks like for me:
Priority level (High, Medium, Low)
Countdown label (How many days left?)
Linked project (What is this task contributing to?)
Incentive (Why do I want to complete this?)
Alignment check (Does this support my long-term goals?)
Because really, what’s the point of doing tasks that don’t move you forward?
👇🏻
Imagine a system that helps you prioritise tasks, motivates you through gamification, and aligns every action with your bigger vision. 🎁
How different would your life look?
2. Learning: Study Smarter, Not Harder
I’m not talking about highlighters and all-nighters.
I’m talking about a Learning OS - a system that turns chaos into academic mastery.
Here’s my 3-part process:
Evidence-based templates – I use the Cornell method for optimal note-taking and retention
Active recall – I build toggle quizzes in Notion to test my understanding
Spaced repetition – I’ve set up an automatic revision scheduler to focus on my weakest areas first
👇🏻
Imagine having a system that helps you take notes, schedule your revision, and track your progress - so you never have to cram at the last minute.
How much better would your grades be?
3. Life Systems: Beyond the To-Do List
“Productivity without joy is just another prison.”
I’m not talking about rigid 5 am wake-ups.
I’m talking about Life Architecture - small, consistent habits that lead to massive results.
Here’s my setup:
Journaling – Every day, I note my top 3 wins, key lessons, and how I’ll apply them tomorrow
Finances – I track every penny. Money isn’t just currency - it’s a tool to buy back your time
Habits – I use an automated system that tracks habits and shows progress analytics
Goals – Daily tasks are meaningless if they don’t align with your long-term vision
👇🏻
Now, imagine a system that manages both your school life and personal life for you.
How much simpler would your workflow be?
The Bottom Line
A perfect system isn’t about fancy apps or hustle porn. It’s about:
Focusing on what truly matters (tasks)
Learning with intention (school/life)
Designing a life you don’t need a vacation from (journaling, habits, joy)
The best part?
I’ve already built it.
It’s called MediZen, a complete system that merges productivity with purpose. 🧠
It’s not just a tool - it’s your accountability partner.
Here’s what Twezher Gurdji, a Y5 Lancaster medical student, says about it.
It incorporates everything you need and more, whether you are applying to medical school and need to effectively track your application alongside your A-levels, or you're in medical school trying to track your studies alongside other areas in life, or you're a medic further on in your studies trying to track your finances alongside your research projects, Medizen does it all.
If you are a student craving to thrive in academics, supported by a life you love, I hope you’ll join us.
Cheers,
Adam
P.S. MediZen made it to the Top 10 on Product Hunt this Sunday!
That puts us in the top 5% of all products launched this week.
Thank you so much for your support - it means the world. 💙
Let’s keep building this amazing community together.
